What are the merits of vegetative propagation?

Posted on April 8, 2026 By B&D

Vegetative propagation bends branches into soil where the covered section develops roots while remaining connected to the parent plant during initial growth. It presses a node into moist soil where identical tissues form roots while the attached branch continues receiving water and nutrients from the parent plant. It creates a rooted section with the same structure where growth continues without interruption and the connection is cut after stable root development once the new plant sustains itself independently.
